Job Description

The English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program is for adult, non-native English speaking students, 18 years of age or older, learning the English language. Classes are from Beginning to Advanced level as well as Intensive Reading and Writing classes. Classes are mornings and/or evenings, Monday through Thursday at the Monroe campus and local community locations in Monroe.

Essential Duties Summary

• Plan lessons for each class meeting
• Provide direct instruction, small group and individualized educational activities for students
• Communicate with the ESOL Coordinator
• Maintain required paperwork for the class including attendance roster, registration forms, and student portfolios

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications

• One year teaching experience
• Experience working in ESOL or related field
